How It’s Made: Laser Eye Surgery

Laser eye surgery can be used to correct a number of refractive errors including myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.

In this video, we take a closer look at how Lasik eye surgery is performed. Your laser eye surgeon will first clean your eyelids and eyelashes before applying anesthetic drops into your eyes. Most surgeons will also utilize antibiotic eye-drops to prevent the risk of infection. After fully testing the equipment to ensure proper energy levels, your eye surgeon will remove a small flap of tissue in order to access and re-contour the corneal lens.
