I received a thorough routine eye examination and left feeling very impressed with the practice.This facility is clean and well-staffed by kind, capable, and efficient assistants. I spent most of my appointment in their care and, toward the end, was actually surprised to learn that I hadnt yet met with the doctor; the assistants were so thorough and competent I didnt think there would be, or needed to be, an encore with a doctor.My encounter with Dr. Deborah Lee, OD was brief but professional. She seemed friendly and we made small talk about the overwhelming intensity of modern car headlights and how they affect those with astigmatism.This was my second-ever eye exam. It took about ninety minutes total and included eye pressure, visual acuity, visual field, refraction, and slit-lamp with pupil dilation (I think? Im not an expert). It goes to show that my first-ever eye exam, performed last year at a different practice, was entirely inadequate, having lasted less than five minutes and comprising of only one or two of the battery of tests performed at Boston Vision! Im very pleased with my experience and feel confident that the procedures were performed correctly.I also appreciate that I never felt sold to nor aggressively steered toward the eyewear sales floor. I understand that eyewear sales are part of the business, but I was really put off by my experience last year at an optometrists office (perhaps a key difference between optometric and ophthalmological practices?). In fact, the doctor at Boston Vision recommended that I return in two years time (despite my insurance covering annual examinations); this instills even more confidence that the practice isnt chasing every last possible dollar.I do wish I had been offered more detailed information about the pronounced effects of pupil dilation prior to and during my appointment. I had not known that dilation was going be part of the exam, nor did I realize that dilations strong effects would so acutely inconvenience me the rest of the day. For eye exams, if you dont opt for the scanning technology ($55 surcharge) and plan to consent to the solution-induced dilation, then make sure to bring sunglasses to your appointment, make arrangements to get home safely, and dont plan on reading or performing any chores for the next four hours.

My whole experience was quick and easy. This was my first ever major type of operation and I couldnt feel any more secure and confident. They did a thorough run through to ensure I was eligible, checked and a verified my insurance. I went in just because I was curious if I qualified. And at the end of my consultation, they emailed me a list dates I can choose. Within 2 weeks I was able to get the operation done.On the day of the operation, they ran some final tests to make sure everything was consistent with my prior consultation which only took 45 minutes in my case. Then it was time for operation. Out of the entire procedure I felt the brace holding my eyes open, nothing painful at all. And maybe 20 minutes later Dr. Gregourie was completed and I was on my way home.The instructions were to keep your eyes closed or naps for 4 hours post operation. Did that easily and after waking up my vision was significantly better than what it was before. I watched a movie that night and never felt happier being able to see without my glasses.Dr Nangle, and Gregourie, were an absolute pleasure to have assist along the way. Instructions were so clear that I had no questions at all. Really appreciate the service and attention to detail provided throughout the entire process

I had IOL replacement in both eyes due to cataracts using the enVista Envy lens. Both surgeries went quickly and without any postoperative issues. After doing a lot of research, I chose the Envy because it has an even better track record than the PanOptix Pro. I wore glasses for over 40 years, and now I am effectively glasses free. While I am extremely satisfied with the care I received, anyone choosing a premium multifocal lens should be aware that neuroadaptation to the new lens takes time. You will see halos around bright point light sources, especially at night. If you only drive at night infrequently, then this probably wont be an issue. Contrast level is reduced somewhat from a monofocal lens, but its still vastly improved over my preoperative cataract vision. If I had to do this over again, I would make the same choice. But be aware, the halos present as multiple concentric rings around point light sources like brake lights. I dont really see them with regular rear tail lights, but when the brighter brake light comes on, the rings are certainly visible. The extent to which this bothers you is very personal and needs to be weighed against glasses independence.
